Downtown Grand Rapids wants you to get your fitness on! The city will be installing six public fitness stations that will run along Sixth Street Park and Canal Park. Each station will have a range of fitness equipment like pull up bars, cross elliptical, hand cycler and many more. There will also be drinking fountain stations so you can stay hydrated while you workout.
Installation begins this month and is costing a whopping $126,000. The project should be completed by the end of this month
Karie Enriquez, project manager for the city of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, said in a statement that “This new exercise equipment in Canal and Sixth Street parks supports the exciting and important improvements in Downtown that enhance public outdoor spaces for city residents and visitors, The equipment is both beautiful to look at and fun for all ages, with a focus on cardiovascular health and balance, strength and flexibility.”
